Ahaha - I took it to a place I usually take stuff like that to when I first got it - it's as good as new right now (needed a new release pin etc)...

I shoot everything I own on a regular basis, no safe queens here. I'm a good shot with a handgun and slightly better with long guns.

        A few more...

And finally a little full auto goodness. These both have the happy switch...

decadecadeca have you ever built a rifle for someone. what would it take for you to build me a cali approved gun like your tan and black AR?

Hey rocket, i've been trying to get a hold of my buddy who built the ar-15 and he's been working nights I think. I'll keep trying, but I think you can just buy the parts seperately except the receiver. Cause technically, ar-15's are legal if they have the receiver that doesn't allow you to load a clip. But you can buy a regular receiver and it's totally legal. I think installing it makes the gun illegal. I'll let you know what I hear from him.

yathere is weird laws when building ARs that i dont know about. i guess you have to have a certain number of amercian made parts? why i dont know. its all funny to me. the only one i understand is the magazine can only be 10 shots. the rest of it is just silly. like the bayonet lug, when was the last time you heard of some one gettin stuck with a bayonet?

Here's a place that builds them for you legal for california. I think to have the receiver that allows the removable clip, you have to be LE. I think some people have even replaced the bolt with a full auto m-16 bolt.

are any of you in to guns (shooting)? i have my share of guns but find it a pain to get more. its not gonna stop me but a pain none the less.
I'm pretty sure you can't LEGALLY own any FULLY automatic weapon in ANY state without a special FEDERAL permit which has to be renewed anually. BB

I've built and maintained rifles for the folks I work with. I don't live in Cali so it wouldn't really be best for you to have me assemble one, ship via FFL with transfer fees etc...I'd look for someone local or hit the AR boards and look for a FTF sale.

The laws do vary by state, some don't allow full auto at all. Of those that do for civilian purchase it will have to be a pre '86 model and you will need a form 4 which is a $200 one time fee.

The real kicker is an RDIAS to convert a post '86 will cost you $8k-$10k and a complete pre '86 depending on model will run $15k-$30k. As with anything in life you have to pay to play.

after hours and hours on this site and links off of it. i found their are many back doors to all these stupid cali laws. still not as good as just buyin a AR and your done but a simple 25 dollar part to keep your mag from commin out is the key to nice AR. as you probably already know some can take a push with a 308 round and the mag will come out.
