So I dropped my fucking cell phone in my protein shake..

On my way home from the gym. I was unplugging my headphones from my phone. Its the Motorola Slvr so it has itunes on it. As I am unplugging it the phone slip and falls directly into my Vitargo/Whey mix. Pulled it out real quick all sticky and wet and shit. Pisses me off.

Stupid question but something that is worrying me a bit. After I pulled the phone out I continued to drink the shake. It dawned on me later that maybe there was something dangerous that could have gotten into the shake from the phone. Do those ion batteries in those phones have acid or anything like that? It was only in the shake for 2 seconds but still kinda scary.

LOL sounds like the sort of thing everyone does from time to time, yeah probably but it wouldn't leak, besides you have pretty strong hydrochloric acid in your stomach anyway.

funny thing is, the phone was still working when i pulled it out of the shake. i shut it off immediately and when i got home took it apart and cleaned it and it is now drying. i will give it a try in 2 days after it sits for awhile under the air conditioning vent.

i pulled the sim card out and put it in my older phone that i had in the closet. works fine.

try to send it back, they have a little dot in the back to see if its been exposed to moisture, it will change color if it has. Try to just scrap the dot off before you send it back, I had a buddy who did this and they replaced it even though it went in the toilet.

na, not worth it. the sim card has nothing wrong with it so i just put that in my older phone and it works fine.

Damn - I've lost two phones to water damage and my insurance states that it covers ANYTHING (from running over it with a car to dropping it in water or losing it etc)...

I'm on my 4th or 5th phone having been replaced by my insurance coverage, once from losing it to my sons bathwater, once to sitting it in my cupholder in the dark in the truck (of course there was a glass of water in it when I did that), two to keys sticking/not working and one to dropping it from about 25 feet off the ground in a treestand....
