7 yr old daughter is doing a 1 mile race

I just thought this was so cool of her. She is 7 and has been competing gymnastics and ice skating now for a couple of years... she is in really good shape.

At school they are having a kids 1 mile race at our HS in town this saturday and SHE ASKED ME if she could do it!!!

I'm going to take her tonight and run 1 mile... see how she does.



I really thought this was great they were doing this seeing how many kids are overweight and out of shape!

its the right age to start them, then they carry it on for the rest of their lifes

Hi, update... we ran a mile last night even part of it uphill... she did FINE!! She never complained and I even had her sprint the last part to the finish... I'm so proud of her!

That is great! It is wonderful that she wants to do it herself.
I was running similar distance when I was her age as well. And I was the one who was asking if I can participate. I really enjoyed stuff like that...and now, many many years later I am still staying in shape and practicing a LOT.
