I really want to go there this winter. I was looking at hotels (in Canada) with fallside views - gorgeous. Especially after snow has fallen.

It is unfortunate how European settlers just showed up, "discovered" various natural sites and renamed them for themselves. Ayers Rock instead of Uluru, Mt. Everest instead of Sagarmatha, Mt. McKinley instead of Denali..... the original names are so beautiful and evoke the spriits of a people who clearly did a lot better of living in harmony with nature than we do.

I would say that is half true. When flying to Poland, the whole expierence was exciting and interesting. Coming back I was half hung over so I slept most of the flights and it probably would have been a real drag otherwise. Coming back I was so ready to get home because I was sick of the planes and there wasn't anything cool to look forward too.

Australia is like 15 hours longer then Poland though isn't it? its literally on the other side of the world from the US.

I'm not sure about all the numbers, but the longest single flight I was on was 10 hours, but my total travel time was just under 24 hours. Previously to this the longest flight I ever had was about 4.5 hours. Once you pass like the 5 or 6 hour mark, the flight is almost surreal. It's almost like you are not even flying, but just sitting in some cramped lounge.

I thought the flight was like 15+ hours from the east coast to Australia?

Either way, long flights suck. I've lived in Europe a couple different times in my life and just that 8 hour flight is too much.
