  • Are we back in the 60's?

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/10/10/col...ef=mpstoryview

Now, it is just ironic to me that this sort of thing in the article happened.

    Here's why:

    1) The media is totally blowing up over the Jena Six, and saying how the black kids in the case are not being treated as whites would, etc. I'm not debating that fact.

    2) Why was it just last week that I was channel surfing and landed at CNN, and there just happens to be this big special about lynchings, and how they still go on today in the south, etc.

It's almost like the MEDIA itself is wagging the dog here. Why are these issues coming up again as if they have never been solved? Why is the media trying to scare everyone, and get them all charged up? I will bet that if there wasn't so much attention on the Jena Six (not saying there shouldn't be), and stuff like this CNN special, this wouldn't have happened. All this does is put ideas into people who have no idea the impact their actions have on anything.

American media is the biggest piece of shit there is. Hell, there was a school shooting today and it wasnt even the top story on CNN.com. What was you ask? Carter saying, "the us tortures prisoners." The media jumped all over that one.

It is no longer journalism and reporting the facts about the story. It is "lets report the shit that will make us money and all the interesting news stories be damned."

Its what will get them the most amount of hits and the most amount of viewers. Journalism isn't honest anymore, its sensationalist.

Why are these issues coming up again as if they have never been solved?
These issues haven't been resolved. Black Americans believe they are still subjugated by white Americans. Black Americans believe they will never have the same opportunities as white Americans. I'm not trying to argue it either way, but the divide is going to be an issue for a long time.
