Anyone else notice the difference in the way the screen looks when games are on CBS and Fox. Fox I think just seems sharper or something. Also what is up with the sound on FSN sounding weird most of the time...

CBS is by far better picture quality when it comes to High Definition. it may have something to do with your local broadcaster or the line coming into your apartment. in general though CBS is ranked #1 in PQ nationwide. CSI Miami is about as good as it gets in HD. Stunning.

sounds to me like you are talking about contrast. fox tends to have a bluish tint. this is common method when selling tv's in stores. they make the contrast WAY to bright so the tv stands out. you can take a perfectly calibrated $10k pioneer plasma with the correct contrast etc.. and sit it next to a piece of crap tv that has its contrast set high. most people will "think" the high contrast picture looks better.Originally posted by ShibbyI noticed the same thing when I lived in OK and Tex. Fox to me looks like it's brighter, kind of like when sports center puts together highlights, where CBS looks like there is slight haze. This is the best way I can describe it.
the only people that can see this gimmick is people that have been watching with the correct contrast ratio. to these people the high contrast just looks like a mess. BUT, people that are used to high contrast will look at a well calibrated tv and think it looks dark and blurry.

exactly. sharpness also plays a role. the station may add extra sharpness to make it appear more clear. in truth, they are just adding artificial line that dont exist. if you look at the tv up close you will see all the pixelation and jaggy lines added by the sharpness.Originally posted by ShibbyI've been looking at both channels and I think I see what you are saying. CBS has a more realistic look and Fox looks more digitized. Does that make sense?
