(KTVI - myFOXstl.com) -- (St. Louis, MO) First it was the Thickburger, then Paris Hilton, and now a new breakfast sandwich from Hardees is garnering plenty of national attention. The St. Louis-based fast food chain is now selling a breakfast burrito that has 920 calories and 60 grams of fat. An average person should consume about 2000 calories and 65 grams of fat everyday, so that's why dieticians are concerned.
St. Louis University Dietician Amy Moore says, "we've always said to start your day with a healthy breakfast and this is not what we really meant. Starting your day with over half your calories and more fat than you need in a whole day is not a good idea."
Steve Lemley of Hardee's points out that, "it's basically a country breakfast all rolled up into a flour tortilla to eat on the go. There are a lot of people who eat a hearty breakfast, it's All-American, so we don't see it as something bad for people."
Since Hardee's started the edgy ad campaign, revenues have soared and their stock price has doubled.
