  • Something that bothers me with the media concerning favre.

Anyone see the start of monday night football? They were showing favre and baby pictures and his life story etc. his wife was talking and they were playing kind of sad music. I felt like I was watching a clip about a fallen soldier.

I think people are forgetting something. This guy plays a GAME. He does what he loves and he has a great life. You might think this guy is fighting on the front lines the way they talk about him. nothing against favre, just the way the media talks about him.

Yea, I thought the same... the piece was tasteful, but why the sad music? The guys had some rough spots in life, but who hasnt?

Ps.Hes got more money than you and I could ever spend, whats sad about that??

I think thats a little unfair. Some athletes are babies, but not all. I work w/ several babies at my job. Also, as much as Id like to think I could, how many of us could wake up everyday and do Favre's job?

They sort of did that throughout the whole game, with his wife. I think part of it was to promote her new book. But they also did a piece on Donald Driver, who did come from nothing, and does seem/act appreciative of what he's earned.

yeah i agree. another thing along those lines - like you said, the media will portray certain athletes as heros and gods, etc - and they will be the first to chastise a player who makes a war analogy or reference. e.g - it was a war out there today, or im a soldier. a little hippocrisy going on if you ask me
