  • Its been a long weekend.

I bought alcohol for some of my buddies and we got fucked raw. I'm getting charged with furnishing to minors. Terrible decision. :drunk:

It's tough to do the smart thing when you have some friends who are of age and some who are not. We all had those buddies when we were underage so you almost feel obligated to return the favor. It's too bad you go busted, unfortunately it's one of those situations that you think will never happen to you. But it has to happen to someone.

First thing I thought of. It may or may not though. He probably has to still go to court and all that nonsense. If he doesn't have priors, etc, it may be thrown out. But he will have to do what it takes to get it off his record if indeed he's able. And that stuff takes time.

How old are you Chris? And when were you joining the Marines?

You can usually still go as long as you have all your fines paid off. The Marines and the Army are usually pretty lenient about things like that. I got in trouble 2 weeks prior to shipping out to basics and all they cared about was paying off my fines. Hell if they held back everybody w/criminal records or current offenses we wouldn't have a military.

I agree. My brother went through all the same nonsense too, but he was dealing with Air Force.

It sounds to me like they were all out drinking, for whatever reason the cops showed up and charged him the furnishing since he was/maybe the only one of age.

You'd hope that was the case, wouldn't you? I can't believe we got caught. Its all because we were being stupid and thinking nothing of it because we do it so often. My friend picked up the bag that I had placed on the ground. In Pa you can only get alcohol from bottle shops past like 7, and you can only buy a certain amount at a time. So I walked in bought some, put the bag near my friend so no one would fuck with it. Walked in bought more. Then I returned to him and he picked up the bag and told me he felt bad making me carry it all...we were fucked from that moment on I guess...They said because he was waiting outside they had suspicion to believe he was underage. They stopped us, asked for our I.D.s, etc.

                      Always stating the negative?

The first thing I said to this guy was. Sir, I'm going to boot camp at the end of the school year. All he said was he didn't know what this meant. I was like, "Gee, thanks."

Tomorrow I'm going to talk to my recruiter, a lawyer, and my buddies friend. My buddies friend is some big wig at PSU and he thinks he might be able to get up out.

Hard lesson learned Chris. Hopefully you won't do that again!

Haha, I bought alcohol for a minor ONE time. I was at Pleasure Island and bought my friend a stinkin' shot. Like 3 seconds later I was stopped by security and told I had 5 mins to leave the park before the PD arrived :hang:

I don't see how they can charge you with intent like that. Yea he was with you, but I would just tell the judge you agree it wasn't smart to have your friend with you, but point out that he stayed outside because you were trying to follow the rules. That the alcohol was for something other than including your friend. Did they confiscate the alcohol?

Yea, they confiscated the alcohol as evidence because he was holding it. Apparently, in PA, a minor in possession of alcohol is enough to be considered furnishing. :dunno:
