my family on my dad´s side has eaten the turducken for the lasat five years except instead of dressing my grandmother puts dirty rice in it. then makes a very yummy cajun dressing to go with it. not that crappy gizzard gravy or whatever it´s made from.

of course we are cajun but you can call us redneck if you prefer. :)

i didnñt get any this year as i am in mexico for 4 weeks. i got a burrito instead.

i am not sure about the origin but i believe so. i really can only imagine a cujun coming up with something like that.

my granny wanted to make it for quit sometime but most of family voted to keep the tradition of having gumbo until one year we showed up and it was on the table and we have had it since and she makes gumbo and etoufe for christmas.

i will never forget that first year. the entire family was arguing. mainly the adults, some in french others in english. it was a very exciting show.

if you ever have the chace to eat some authentic turducken i would definetly recommend it.
