So I got my new laptop with vista premium. Looks awesome, very mac like. The problem is that it doesn't like firefox or many other things. Gives me the "program has encountered a problem" like 2-3 times a day. Tried to install a program yesterday and it said, "at this time, this program, does not work with vista. Had to do a system restore yesterday because of a bunch of other BS. I hope the Service pack coming for vista fixes these problems. Looks much better then XP but is not even close to being as stable. I guess XP wasn't very stable when it came out either though.

XP didn't have near the problems that Vista is having. We are reverting so many of our business clients back to XP because of the incompatibility issues. Yes they will someday fix these issues, but the bottom line is that they don't work right now. Vista is nothing but a resource hog and waste of money.

why would you go ahead and waste your money on that super computer? bad decision.Originally posted by NewbieChrisSo, I ended up ordering my components to build that computer...I got excited because I was finally going to be able to get Vista(64). However, you have to still run XP. Nothing is compatible with Vista, especially the 64 bit version. Two versions of windows on one computer. lol.

2-3 times as expensive. simple as that. i do basic things with my computer. i just am not willing to pay 3 times as much.Originally posted by Turbo3000Haven't people learned by now...BUY MAC.
I would never own a peecee again, only computers that I have to put work into now are other people's. I am Apple only from now on.

i dont think it is fair to say "waste of money". the first service pack is coming out soon and it will continue to be more stable. a waste of money would be buying an OS that wont have future support. kind of like buying Windows ME or 98. lol.Originally posted by blmXP didn't have near the problems that Vista is having. Go add it up for me, compare a peecee with a mac, feature for feature. You will be surprised. I do basic things also, my iMac is approaching its 2 year birthday and it still runs as great as it did out of the box and I have put in 0 amount of time into keeping it that way. I went through 2 peecees, one "super" one I built, and it was worthless 2 years later, and ran slow as shit.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER2-3 times as expensive. simple as that. i do basic things with my computer. i just am not willing to pay 3 times as much.

At the present time if you are a business owner and you cannot use all of your software that helps run your company it is an absolute waste of money. I don't care if there are 'fixes' coming or not. I'm not saying that it will never be stable or compatible because it will but right now it is a lot of peoples best interest not to get it because they will be wasting their money.
