Hi all. It’s been a long week or two for me, seems as though when things fall apart they really go to hell. To update, I’ve been plowing through a divorce and all the fun stuff that goes with it. Back in the first week of August, I noticed that my checking account was overdrawn by a rather large amount. Seems my wife’s direct deposit was no longer deposited, I was in the hole for over $3,000.00. All the bills were paid with my last couple of paychecks and left me just about broke. Of course, in the meantime, I broke a molar, my truck needed to be fixed, I got a ticket for no inspection, and needed a new prescription for reading glasses(can’t see sh*t anymore).

I went with my attorney two weeks ago for the first court date to see what needs to be resolved; I have forgone a custody fight at this time, it would cost too much and I really don’t have an issue with my wife as a mom. Basically, she can still live in the house without it being sold, I will have to move out even though I don’t want a divorce. This is how the court sees that the children will be properly taken care of, so they won’t be uprooted and all. I could agree on this point to some extent, but with all my money tied up in the house, I’ll be put out like the cat in about six months. I think I won’t be able to convince the judge that the house should be sold so I’ll have something of a life.

The numbers indicate that I will be pretty poor for about 7 more years, that at least 1/3 of my take home pay will go to child support. After my last child turns 18 I can live a little again. I’ll be 54 by then, LOL.

In the mean time, I’ve not been running too much, haven’t really lifted too much, not slept too much. Too much stress, I guess. I am watching my diet but that’s about it, I don’t have ANY motivation whatsoever to do anything more than get out of bed every day. Hopefully when things settle down some I’ll get back to a regular routine.

I am back in court late November, there is a sit down with attorneys and my wife prior to this, it should be interesting to say the least.

I find all of this somewhat surreal, like a crazy kind of dream. For now, I just have to see where this takes me.

Work has let up a little as well, so I should have a little more time here now.

    Nice to be back.:D

Dude, at the end of 7 years you'll be like "fuck, where did the time go???"

If you waste those seven you'll regret it. Make the most of it and you'll be glad for it.

I've gone for 3 in a similar situation (no children, thank the Lord)and by xmas it'll be done with. I'd have gone nuts if was hung up on watching that money fly away.

      Chin up.

Sana, smiling now. BTW, I was over at Costco the other day and I tried some of the Kirkland canned salmon. It's really good, very mild and I like it as a change from tuna. Try it if you haven't yet, it's good.

What's got me totally stressed right now is the anticipation of seeing the Poppcock cans in Costco, to me it's more addicitve than crack. Costco usually has that stuff out about now and I can eat a whole can in an afternoon watching football and guzzling beer.

Good luck with it all. I have a friend who's been going through divorce stuff since the beginning of the year. He's just now getting it settled and the divorce should be final the first week in January. His wife was a bitch through the whole thing, but he's still in the house (it's been up for sale since March) and gets the kids much of the time...he had them almost all summer. Just have a lot of patience and things will eventually settle into place.

Watch out for drinking that beer though (mainly in clubs or bars)...I just read some interesting news about it. ;)

Thanks MrsP, I'm hoping that all this is over quick, don't get me wrong we are very civil towards each other and I will get to stay in the house until the divorce is final. I think however my wife's attitude will change a lot (for the worse) once the attorneys start hashing it out.

That beer thing is really scary, I'll be careful. Thanks.:D

Thanks Keiser. Didn't mean to leave you out BTW. I definitely have a different outlook thanks to a couple of things you've told me.

                            NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOW DARE YOU COME BACK ON THIS BOARD AND TELL US YOU HAVE NOT BEEN RUNNING OR WORKING OUT.

THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. WE ARE ALL ENVIOUS NOW, LOL.

                            Morgan,

Not a day went by that didn't miss your posts. Almost e-mailed a few times to check in. Often times though last thing folks want to do is re-hash the bad.

Man, just go run, lift, workout all that stress. Can't control the money stuff, yet you can reward your body and make it feel better. That you have control over.

Either way, welcome back, and we missed your humor.

                            Later
