Possibly moving to New England...?

Shibby and I are looking at living outside of either Boston, or maybe around Concord or Manchester, NH.
Boston has many opportunities for me while I am done with my degree, where Concord, NH has my old high school and that is where I have some connections.
Could you recommend us any of the places around those areas ?
We are looking for a quiet and family oriented neighborhood that is not too far and not too close to a city. Possibly close to a ski resort and maybe some nice lakes....
Any suggestions?

anyone see the NFL network commercial where the guy from new england is sitting in some diner. Joe Montana is the chef. the guy from new england starts making fun of this guy for wearing a turtle neck, "t-neck" as he calls it. lmao. funny as hell.
