i also need a week or so to acclimate to the new smoker....

i plan on doing some rosewood salmon, some baby back ribs and maybe one brisket before i show the old man how it's done.

i love to BBQ. me and sana watch those BBQ cook offs on food network and shit like that.

I didn't get too much but it was all from family, lol. My ex got me the dicks sporting card because he knows I am an UNDER ARMOUR freak. I love the stuff. I did get myself a 40k dollar gift but I needed a new car, oh and I had gotten a gift for someone special, but he didn't stick around long enough to get them, so I got me a new pair of Raybans, they are sweet!

my dad has an old charcoal smoker that he's had for years. he challenged me to a 'cook off' - my new gas powered one against his dinosaur charcoal smoker. he's having a bunch of apple wood flown in for his brisket - i'm just gonna go cut some mesquite branches off of a tree in the back yard and STILL beat him! LOL

I could swear that I read somewhere that using 'green' mesquite wood (as in, not cut down and aged a good while) is a terrible idea. It will ruin the food with a bitter taste, AND ruin the smoker by putting bitter deposits in it. Do a quick Google search before you attempt this.
