  • iTunes vs P2P

How many people use iTunes and how much better is it than a P2P? or is it just about getting your music legally?

  • #2
    Well.....

itunes is legal, p2p is not
psp is free, itunes is not
itunes is safe, p2p is risky (virus)
itunes is a little more organized, whereas p2p is sometimes a weird version, or not good quality, etc...

I have retyped this four times now and it always seems to sound harsh, but it's not meant that way so don't take it that way :)..

I know all this but I'm looking for peoples reasoning on using each. You just gave me the pro's and cons of each.

But that is my reasoning for each. I've used both. I probably won't use p2p ever again - it messed up my computer and really messed up FH's.

Thank you, that was more the answer I was looking for. The first one didn't say what you use and why.

I'm sort of stuck right now in deciding as well. I was using a monthly plan, where you can download however many songs you want. But as soon as you stop the service, all your songs disappear. I hate to pay .99 a song as well. I had my sister download a bunch to a disc for me (she used bearshare), but now I don't live near her

I really don't mind paying a dollar a song soon, because we will be having more money soon to use for stuff like that, that we didn't have before. If it's always a perfect sounding download, you only have to download one and I'm better protected from virus' it seems worth it.

I think I'd prefer to just buy cd's. That's usually cheaper than $1 a song.

I don't like to have a bunch of CD's, I like to compile my own stuff together.

yea, my issue would be quality, itunes seems to be best.
