Bouncer, I agree people should assimilate but you seem to be taking it much farther. Almost sounds like you don't want people to appreciate their culture. I think they can be proud of where they came from, this being a part of who they are, but come to American for the opportunities of a better life. Legally.

No, I think they should appreciate their culture. I don't have a problem with that at all. What I do have a problem with is the people that come here and don't appreciate our culture at all. They feel like they don't have to adapt at all. That is what I am talking about.

When you started talking about hanging flags in the cars and stuff is where it started to sound a little extreme to me. I even have and wear Poland stuff because I love who my wife is and I am very proud of her. But I know we can't ever live there because of the economy.

i see so much of that shit around here. especially Indian people. i don't mean to group people like that but around here, every Indian i see is cocky as hell, hardly speaks English, smells like shit, and is always trying to cheat the system or butt in line etc..

i dont like to hate people but i gotta tell ya, it is not easy to like these people.

i don't like the flag stuff. i would never go to poland or any other country and put a bunch of American stuff on my car etc. i would feel like i am disrespecting the country that i am in. i feel like sometimes people wear it like a badge like, "i am from here and i am better then you." i dunno, maybe i see it wrong.

If I was just visiting the country I wouldn't wear an American flag. If I moved there for what ever reason (as long as it wasn't I now hate my country), I would be proud to be where I am from. I would like people to know that I am proud to be an American living in their country. I would try to do it with respect an appreciation to where I now live though. I think it is the same way. It's probably more of an overdose of their culture in ours. If it's just a little subtle thing here and there I don't mind it. But if it's more of something to the extent of being tacky or like you said, them being in our country but not being appreciative of it.

yea, its kind of hard to get across what i mean here. i think you know what i mean though. like for example, what would your wife's parent think if they were driving down the street and here i come driving down the street in my hummer with an American flag in the window. they would probably look at each other and say, "fucken americans". lol. i would never go to poland and do that though, i would be respectful to people and i would adapt to the way they live.

how do u know they will do that????

Some pep like to embrace other cultures and learn from there

When i went to Europe in '02 i wore a T-Shirt that said God Bless American and had the flag on my shirt...NOBODY said jack shit to me, instead random pep came up to me and talked to me in English saying WOW AMERICA, BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Like i know what u mean becuz of ur other posts, i didn't type anything becuz u were still on fire and didn't wanna get u all cooked up
Some pep like to be reminded of their heritage and cultures, my parents r amazing people and the Iranian culture is soo rich and pure, i want to live in Iran, but American is sooo much better. There is no strict Islamic law here, unlike there. Plus i can't do half the stuff there, becuz in Iran they will put u in jail or worse kill u.
U just had a bad experience wit un-educated people, and yes there r pep like that in the world that wanna take advantage of rules

I do understand what you are saying because I have had a lot of the same feelings. I guess I just find it hard to want someone to hide their culture in public when I am so happy about who my wife is. I know a new yorker wearing yankee's stuff in Boston would give a lot of people a sour taste. So I can see how it's like taunting, but then again fanhood is a choice and your blood isn't.
