Divorce sucks.. IMO. Never been married, phewww still legally single, but I can say I have been thru my ex's divorce. No matter what you get ripped off either by the lawyer or the ex. Everyone wants a piece of the action. People get greedy for sure.

nobody fights the bill with lawyers cuz they are scared. do yourself a favor, get him on the line and tell him your concerned about the cost. tell him it is VERY high for the service they performed. you believe it should be reduced. dont have to be a dick just explain your thoughts... you have nothing to lose. My dad did that and they cut it in half. its bs what they charge for doing nothing.

I actually agree with you for once. My lawyer charged me about 750 less because I had another lawyer call. Their rates usually include a referral fee whether you were referred or not.

I had typed something else, but then read that you posted this so I deleted that to write this. I got into a heated discussion on divorce with some cheapo and it reminded me of this thread.

$1600 is not too bad - Pretty cheap price to pay for your future happiness and to keep your sanity, lol. So in the end you may have lost some stuff, whatever that may be, but you shouldn't feel cheated. You now have the opportunity to find someone that suits you and Just live together this time around, lol. So much cheaper :)
