  • Blu-Ray has won the war

Looks like Blu-Ray will win the war. WB just jumped ship. OOooooh, one HD format and Sony controls it. This is gonna be expensive.

Yea, read about it a few days ago. Rumor is that Paramount may soon jump ship to Blu-Ray also.

Apparently the rumor is not true. Either way it doesn't matter. The PS3 plays Blu-Ray. lol. I just think the disks will be more expensive. *Sigh*

Blu Ray will win the war. It's VHS vs BETA all over again and Blu Ray is VHS.

Blu-Rays biggest competition now is DVD. DVD out sells bothe blu-ray and hd dvd by 10x's. if blu-ray want to be the next home video standard like DVD is, they will have to cut costs even more or the general consumer wont buy it. when blu-ray players first came out, they were 1k-$1200.00 dollars. now they are on average around $300-$400 dollars. By next Christmas they will be around $150-$200 dollars.

Its funny though, its only because Sony marketed the PS3 w/ Blu-Ray. If they hadn't this would be completely different. HD was cheaper and Blu-Ray would have a LOT less players in the world. Lame I hate that Sony has control over this.
