When you grow up and stop acting like a child I will respond to your posts in kind. Haven't seen that yet.

I think when you do cardio and listening to the Backstreet Boys is stupid and gay...You have never drank coffee? Have you ever smoked? Drank a beer? Or have had a speeding ticket?I also forgot to add...You eat food ED don't you? You ever think about the amount of caffeine you consume that's in your food?
Never drank coffee or smoked a cigarette. Have tried pot once and occasionally I drink wine with a good dinner. Thats about it. I have drank beer, but I can count the amount of times on both my hands.

I am not trying to say caffeine is bad, actually that was the point of my original post. The idea that caffeine is worse than something like pot boggles my mind. If you abuse either they aren't good for you, but in small amounts both have benefits.

Either way the trend is dumb in my opinion. I can't hold that opinion?

I dont understand the merits of discussing the negative consequences of caffiene use in this community.

Its a little ironic dontcha think?

so who would you suggest talk about it? the guy that smokes cigarettes? how about the guy that is 50lbs overweight? how about the guy that takes a pill at night to go to sleep. if you look at it that way, nobody in this world has the right to talk about it..

Judgment is always too easy to pass.

yeah...coffee shops are a harmless place to hang out. then again, when i was 18/19, i too was hanging out in coffee shops...usually high on coke (not the beverage). lol

my friend miles, god rest his soul, was usually in the bathroom running heroin.

I didn't read all the responses because I didn't feel like reading the junk in between, but I do see it as there could be worse things. But does anyone think we (as parents) shouldn't teach our kids that "there could be worse things you could be doing" as an acceptable response...

i agree with that, its not an acceptable response. just saying that kids will be kids and if you had your pick of bad things they will be doing, i am sure you would be happy with a coffee shop.

I agree with all that and probably wouldn't really worry about it, but I wouldn't let my son think I condone it. Then again, at that age I doubt my mom really knew where I was at most of the time.

                              Heres one for you...

would you rather your kids be out socializing at cofeeshops....

or sitting at home playing WOW and eating junk good?

Situational bias and compromise is something we, as parents, have to deal with. Having these thoughts is one thing, voicing these concerns to our children is something different. Its a tricky situation as objects of vice become more easily accessable to our children, and will continue to do so as the world progresses into technologic oblivion.
