  • Edwards and Giuliani drop out of White House race

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat John Edwards and Republican Rudy Giuliani were abandoning their presidential bids on Wednesday, shrinking the field to two main candidates in each party.

The surprise announcement by Edwards, a former North Carolina senator who was his party's vice presidential nominee four years ago, left former first lady Hillary Clinton facing Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination in what seemed likely to be an long, bruising struggle.

Smart moves and good for McCain/Clinton/Obama...Edwards and Guiliani would just take away votes form the potential winner! Going forward, it looks like McCain is a lock for the GOP, while the Dem side is anyones game...

Why does it seem like we can never have candidates we like anymore? It doesn't feel like "the people" have anything to do with the presidency anymore. I will probably just write in Edwards and be done with it.

With the war and everyone pretty much ready for a change, it's hard to believe that a Rep will get elected. So, to me, it's almost pointless to vote for who I want to win. Sometimes I thing I'd be better off voting for the Dem I hate least!

This may be old news, but I just heard talk about an Obama/Edwards campaign. I kind of like that idea.

Because they dropped out, voters in NJ who voted by absentee ballot are allowed to vote again. WTF is that?

That would be like Tony Romo joining the roster of the Giants after the Cowboys lost.

You pick your bitch, and ride it till the bloody end, not matter what she says.
