  • We Have to Stop RealID!!

This Real ID program is incredibly threatening to all of us and on several levels. It is yet another means of tally and control being forced on us by this administration. The program has several VERY alarming flaws with regard to the most fundamental aspects of the program. Why in the fuck are we all just standing by and letting them take or beloved America from us!!!!???? We're letting them ROB our civil liberties under the guise of 'protection from terrorism'! IT'S A FUCKING SMOKE SCREEN PEOPLE!!!!!!! WAKE THE FUCK UP!!

i can see many issues. but when someone makes a post like his, he sounds like some left wing nut.

kind of like Howard Dean and his screaming antics. he may have had many good points but after that, people just saw a nut. lol

i'm pissed! we're all just sitting around fat, complacent, and fucking lazy - just watching as the country is being taken from us. if being visibly pissed off about it makes me a nut then i suppose i am! i can't believe more people aren't pissed off about it.

move to china and live for a year. move to Iran and live for a year. you will see just how good we have it. you will see how free we really are. you type shit like this in other countries and you will have your shit kicked in.

nothing is being taken. we have a shitty administration and many of the laws and stances will leave with that administration

because i choose not to bitch and complain and because i don't agree with you on certain subject means its my fault. lol. i had you pegged for a tab bit smarter then that my friend.

Look, the idea that the government will gain some sort of knowledge by a 'national' ID is ridiculous. You already have a national ID card, its called your social security number. And its not as if the state government wouldn't roll over and hand any information the have on you to the federal government anyway.

If you think right now you are somehow protected because states are in control of this information...you're delusional. The information is out there and its not hard to get to. I was on a BMW forum and got to know this guy. We got to talking and he told me he could find out where I lived, etc. He said it would be easy. Feeling protected and that my information was held by the state with a need to know basis. We went at it. Lets just say, I lost that bet. The centralized data base would not hold anymore information than state governments are already irresponsible with.

If you want to get up in a rise about something that has been happening for YEARS, that Okay. However, Bouncer is right. If you want people on your side...don't sound like a nut.

At the end of this all, let me just say this. I am by NO MEANS for another national ID system. Fuck, I think the national government is far too fucking bloated right now. I would love nothing other than to see its power stripped considering how poorly is applies that power. Thats just not a reality. You aren't going to be able to change the system. Americans are either too lazy to care about their liberties or they are too concerned with who is fucking what and whether or not God approves, etc. Believe me, that 'write your congressmen crap' is exactly that, crap. You want to know who read your mail during Spring 2003. Me...thats who. And unless there was a huge influx about a certain topic, it never got discussed. All your going to do by getting up in a tussle is give yourself gray hair.

I think we're all pissed off, the question is how do we express that anger in such a socialist state?

                  perfectly said.

goliath, i don't disagree with you that things need to change. i am also not this ignorant asshole that doesn't care like you seem to be implying. my point is that what you are saying is nothing new. do you think you are somehow making a difference by going around to everyone you see and screaming into their ear about how bad things are with our government? your not. that is not how to get things done and it serves no purpose besides an argument.

He's right though. Its a very good reason to get pissed off. Honestly, how many of us aren't fed up? I can completely understand his post and I am empathetic to it. Sometimes we all need to vent when we see the things that are happening. I wish more people would actually do something about it. The entire situation sucks.

All I'm saying is don't give the man too much of a hard time. We should all be so passionate. However, we should direct that passion where it belongs.

like i said chris, i do agree with what he is saying. but when he turned his argument on me and said "its my fault" because i dont scream and rant about it like he does, that is over the line and just plain wrong.

as a matter of fact, i write my state reps and congressmen. quite frequently i might add. as should anyone who i concerned about any given legislation.

and i was blaming your attitude....'everything is fine, we have it so good here! just look at iran and china'. that is a bad attitude. iran and china have fuck all to do with this discussion. i had you pegged for a tad bit smarter than that. we're talking about evolving US standards - not china or iran. comparative reasoning will get us into trouble in situations like this. it's called cultural relativism...we set our own standards and the standards of other cultures with regard to this discussion are irrelevant.

i can agree with that. comparing other countries is a stupid argument.

my little rant is the result of my growing aggravation with several things really. but that's a topic for another thread...

this just happened to be the issue which sent me over the edge for a second.

Okay, okay, simmer down now(everyone, including me). Lets all agree that we have it good in America, but that we are all becoming far too complacent and that could lead us to problems.
