  • Ring Question

Ok so lets say I have this diamond ring, but I need to get it taken off of its current yellow gold band and put it on a white gold band. Where would you go to do something like this? I wouldn't think I'd go to a regular jewelry store because I would like to sell the current band, but I don't want to be going to a pawn shop to sell the current one either.

Yeah? Thanks for the advice I don't keep track of stuff like that. Is there somewhere like a website that shows stuff like that or do I actually have to start watching the news?

bro no ofence but if your band is 14K yellow gold! take the diamond out get a new band (I perfer white gold) and throw the old band in the garbage. seriously you wont get shit for it. no store will by it from you unless they melt it down and pay you that way but again that equals nuttin. of coarse you could have some super masive 5 oz band where the store might give you 50 bucks after melting.

Not every jewelry store has a jeweler. Most of the stores in like the mall has their stuff sent out. I think your best bet would be to find one of those smaller jewelry stores with a good reputation. Most all those privately owned stores are ran by jewelers and give good prices. That's what I did with my wife's ring. I put the diamonds in a new whit gold setting and after the cost of the setting and labor, I had a $10k ring for only about $600.

I prefer yellow gold - white gold may as well be sterling silver...

It has nothing to do with affordability. I just happen to like GOLD - bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc. So everyone should wear strictly silver now??
