  • NY/NJ people, question

So I'm on the turnpike and I go threw exit 13a and pull up to pay and nobody is sitting there. Eventually I figure out its a easy pass lane. I drive the turnpike all the time and know the difference between easy pass lanes and regular lanes. The fucking purple easy pass sign was not lit up, the only thing lit up was the green arrow thus making it look like a regular lane.

    2 Question.

How much will they charge me for going threw an easy pass lane. (i dont have easy pass.)

How do I dispute it? the sign was not lit up and it wasnt my fault that i went threw it.

I've done the same thing in Fl. My ticket came in the mail as well - $25. If you want to fight it, you should call now, before the ticket even comes. Tell them what happened and question how you can pay the .75 or whatever the toll is.

I believe it's $35....but as NYCmitch said call them and explain what happened, couldn't hurt.

See if you had one of them fancy phones with a built in camera you could've taken the picture of the lights and send it to them with your dispute letter but it's too late now just pay the fine and be done with it.:)

Bouncer you have to get with the times.. no ezpass and you still flying with that oldy but goody cell.. :P

I did this once and got a letter in the mail. There is a section where you can write your reasoning for such error.. duhoy and then send a check for the amount of the toll, etc. There will be the option. Mine was accidental and I disputed this and never heard back from them. If they find it acceptable you are home free

Go get yourself ezpass.. its so convenient

you mean you don't have a plate on your car when you drive? if that is what your saying, that wouldn't work here. you wouldn't get 2 miles down the road without getting pulled over.
