To compare Britney Spears to the likes of John Lennon or Elvis Presley is rediculous. She is a washed up pop star that still draws incredible amounts of media attention. However, the two aforementioned were in the peaks of their careers when they passed. No comparison!

i am not comparing her in terms of talent to those guys. but in terms of the media, i don't think you understand just how much times have changed. the hype would be like no other.

I know what you are comparing and I know times have changed, but you seem to be disillusioned of how much of an impact the death of Lennon and Presley had on the world and how it still effects people to this very day. She did nothing memorable. She did nothing productive for society. Elvis revolutionized music (so to say) and Lennon completely went against the grain of society to spark a revolution and speak out against war in a time when it was 'communist' to do so. Sure the media will be in an absolute frenzy, but it will fade in time. Unlike the aforementioned. Everyone is expecting her to die or commit suicide so it will be no surprise if and when she does.

musicians are not really a subject i ever payed much attention too. sure i know who elvis, lennon, etc.. were but i think people make these guys much bigger then they are. i think that leads to the downfall of a lot of them. i never understood the word "legend" when talking about someone who sings songs or acts in movies. to me they are people with a talent and it pretty much ends there. i guess you could say i am not really impressed by them if that makes sense.

People like that are legends in their own right. In terms of musical accomplishments and societal movements. They change generations. That is quite an accomplishment, imo.

now that i would agree with. he is someone that i look up to and consider great. i guess some people see movie stars and singers like I see arnold.

It's all about their accomplishments and what they did for their industry.

People like that are legends in their own right. In terms of musical accomplishments and societal movements. They change generations. That is quite an accomplishment, imo.

i agree with that and i know they had a significant impact.

i guess what i mean is that these people are not something i look up to or am impressed by and therefor its hard for me to understand the hype behind these people.
