It depends on the person but I think in my case, especially on this board, it brings out better parts of me because to be honest, I want you guys to respect and like me, as well as help when I have questions. I can see where he could have a very good point though. Statement is just way too general.

yea, it depends on what "internet" he is talking about.
if its some chat room where people are trying to pick up each other or something that can be bad.
but a forum like this i think is the opposite. we come here because we have a goal to reach and we help each other get there.

there r some forums out there which people will BURN U for making a simple mistake (happened to me on a car forum) i was like FUCK U GUYS, i am never postin here again.
On the other hand there r a few good forums that i don't mind posting on and talkin to pep on (such as SM)
Its good to know that there is good pep on the net that exist, and aren't being mean to eachother.

yeah, I've been reading a lot of amazon reviews of the kindle and I was amazed at the amount of people who flame people who post negative reviews... the number of people who call people names just for having a different opinion.
Some Internet ppl suck :madfu:

"Internet Warriors"
I dont know. I personally would say when driving. ppl act tough in there safe car. Road rage is funny to me b/c ppl size up the person first, its usually a women in a minivan thats cuts them off and not the car w/ tinted windows with a guy who looks like hes got a gun under his seat and not afraid to use it. If your not a tough guy dont act like one youll get yourself killed especially in nyc/njLast edited by NYCmitch25; 02-20-08, 08:33 AM.

i know for a fact that i'm much more harsh on the web. i think it has a lot to do with the lack of personal interaction. we forget that those are people typing the things that piss us off and all social aptitude flies out the window. people tell me all the time that i'm one of the nicest guys they've ever met - but on the web everyone thinks i'm an asshole.
and yeah - drivers exhibit the same phenomenon. my girlfriend acts like she's ready to kill a person who cuts her off. anonymity makes it difficult to keep things in perspective i guess....

I have been on the Internet for a long time & have been through many changes in attitude including this very group. One of the things you learn and this even includes Email Corporate or Personal. Personality and humor is not always interpreted over the Internet. Many times what you express as humor is interpreted as a nasty comment because you never know what mood a person is in that receives it. Keep in mind that when you respond to an Email or post something that a person might not see it for several hours or even days so the moment is lost to time. I have been in management for several years now & almost all business is done via Email these days. I tell all my staff that do not put into email anything you wouldn't put on paper and sign your name too. The power of the Internet changes every year has become a very powerful medium & with that comes the danger of miss interpretation. It has certainly happened to me in the past so these days I try to stay on point and keep my sense of humor to people I know personally
