I have tried a couple before for Polish but it didn't really fit to my learning style. I found one today that I really like. It's from this company Teach Yourself - languages section and I got the "complete course".

they say the best one is Rosetta Stone: Learn English, Learn Spanish, Learn French, Learn German, Learn Italian, and 25 other languages with our language-learning software packages. i just saw a commercial for it. lol

I haven't tried that one because of the cost. I would hate to spend that kind of money and it not be a format that works well for me. I tried an interactive dvd for like $20 and glanced through the another one at Barne's & Noble that was about $60. This one was $30 and it comes with two instructional cd's and a book.

I took French from grade 1 to grade 10 and still can't speak it fluently. I have been around my mother and grandmother speaking Polish my whole life, and still only recognize select words...nowhere near fluent. I don't absorb languages well.

I took 6 years of German and all I can say is "Ich habe eine grosse Catse in meine Hose". Which of course is straight from Blue Streak in German instead of Spanish. It means "I have a large cat in my pants."
Other than that, my brain just doesnt function when it comes to learning a new language.

I am fluent in Polish and English.
Took German for 3 years (can't remember much anymore) but I think that refreshing it would get me back on track.
Also, I studied some Bosnian for some time, was able to understand what people were talking about but not respond.
As far as I can recommend, it is the best to go to the country that uses the language you want to learn. It is by far the fastest and best way to learn a new language.
