Has anyone else seen this? Am I the only one who doesn't get the point of this movie? The actor who played the bad guy did a great job, but I don't get it. He goes around killing everyone, then a car t-bones him and he walks off with a bone sticking out of his arm, then you see the sheriff talking about his stupid dreams and then the movie's over. You don't find out what happened to the money or the bad guy or why the whole thing started in the first place. Kinda lame to me, but the actor who played the bad guy won an oscar. :dunno:

the book was great, I can't wait to see the movie.
If the movie is like the book, then I saw it as an exploration of Anton's character. What is evil and how does it interact with the normal every day lives that people lead? What do people do when they encounter evil? The sherrif is an old man who is tired of his constant encounters with bad men; he knows how the story ends and is powerless to stop it and yet continues to fight because he knows he must.
Life doesn't always have neat, clean resolutions, neither should art. This film isn't about answering questions, but raising them.
Cormac McCarthy often personifies evil in his novels, Blood Merridean is a book about the old west which is one of the best I've ever read.

LOL. Than I guess I was just raising the question more than looking for the answer.Originally posted by mindstar View Postthe book was great, I can't wait to see the movie.

I am a little pissed off that i got a 85% on my 1st essay. I mis-read the syallbus and i thought she wrote that each essay must be 2,000 words minimum. When i asked her about that, she said NO, and the goal of the class was to get you to write 2,000 words in 30min, 6 paragraphs min.
anyway, i was mad i got a 85, and she said my thesis wasn't that clear, my essay was too wordy and lengthy (7pgs), and few grammatical errors that were noted.
