College students get emergency text alerts

My wife just told me that she got a test text message today from an alert system She said it's been going on for about a year, but she just forgot to tell me. It's in case of any emergency but the "talk" about it is in case of shootings. I just thought it was very interesting.

ya our college offers that same thing. I didn't sign up for it

I don't think my wife signed up for anything, but she does go to a private university. I don't know if that makes a difference though.

It's rediculous that it has come to this, but it's a wise decision, imo.
