Congratulations, That is a very ambitious career choice, I have several friends in the medical field. any thought as to what direction your thinking. Some areas require more time than there are hours in a day

I will be attending Texas Tech which is where I went for my undergrad as well. I have always wanted to study neurology but we will see. I have alot of years to get it figured out. Thanks everyone.

Congrats man. I know a couple people in med school and my ex-wife is gonna be a doctor. I got a couple words of advice for you. One, focus on your schooling, but not so much you don't have a personal life. Two, don't get into a serious relationship or if you're in one don't put them through barely seeing you. Most of the time it doesn't work out. Three, don't decide just yet what you want to do. You're gonna see every side of the field and you may end up liking something you never thought you would. You'll know by the end of you're third year for sure. And don't be discouraged. It'll be a rough ride but you can do it if you stick to your guns.

"doc, i injected test directly into my bicep vain, is that a bad thing?"

At least you didn't inject right in your ass hole.

Congratulations!! I remember the day I got my acceptance. It is an amazing feeling! Medical school is very tough - much tougher than college, so have fun this summer before you start!
I would agree with one comment above that you should keep an open mind. I thought I'd be a pediatrician, like most women do, but ended up loving ob/gyn, radiology and general surgery. I ended up choosing ob/gyn. But even within the field of ob/gyn, you can become a gynecologic oncologist or a maternal-fetal medicine subspecialist, or an infertility subspecialist. So take a long hard look at every specialty as you face it. That's down the road a couple of years, though. For now, get ready to study! If you choose to enter a field that is highly sought after, your scores in medical school can make or break your chances to get into that particular residency. So study hard so that you don't limit yourself later.
Make sure you remember this day and how great it feels and how bad you want this. It's a long, hard road. Many people quit along the way, or get very jaded and angry about the time commitments they are faced with. But if you try to remember why you are there doing what you are doing, it makes things a lot easier.
As for your relationships during medical school and residency - it's true, a lot of relationships can't handle it. You'll be spending a huge amount of time in classes and studying. It takes it's toll on all your relationships. Keeping a relationship together through med school and residency can be difficult, but it's definitely possible. I have friends who got married and had children in med school and residency. So I would not spend much time worrying about that stuff. It's all about priorities and how you choose to spend your time.
                    Congratulations again!

My answer would be something like this, "I think it is better to inject straight into the vain, it gets into your system faster. If this one doesn't kill you, do it again and just keep on trying. Do it for the rest of us. " Thats why they shouldn't let me be a Dr.

I am just on top of the world today. I am pretty sure I called everyone in my phone last night and screamed some inarticulate bullshit about being a dr then hung up.

Keep at it DNA. Long road but there is not much that will trump that feeling of opening that acceptance letter. I have been out of school now for 2 years so just do what you have to do to get there. They must have lowered the standards or something this year. I mean, if they let me in...
