                        • Gas prices are likely to go back up due to the cartel mentaility of most of OPEC. Lets hope that Bush's friend, Saudi Arabia, pushes to keep prices at least below 100/barrel for the near future.

                          • JUICE - you shouldn't post in this thread dude :P Texas is a State of its own at this point. Y'all are shielded from what most of the rest of the U.S. is dealing with - great place to be living/working right now that's for da*n sure...

Doesn't surprise me. Oil is the only bargaining tool Iran & Venezuela have with the rest of the world. That's the only way they can still be considered as players on any sort of level playing field.

Regardless- I will be ok w/ oil at $80 a barrel. See, they think Americans are idiots. They think we just won't turn down the furnace a couple degrees, or drive less. Well, we just got done doing it. People have embraced public transit, and use it now more than ever.

The second problem is that the rest of the world just won't let it happen due to the GLOBAL financial crisis. But, the problem with their strategy is that so many sanctions could be placed on them by the global community, it would make their head spin. They can try and cut production all they want...But I wouldn't be surprised if even more valuable resources are cut off to those countries if they choose that path.
