NBC has officially purchased the rights to produce an American version of Top Gear, and seeing as it has one of this country's biggest gear heads on its payroll, it's a no-brainer that they would at least ask Jay Leno to host

If Leno is the host it will suck! they need that guy that broke both his legs in a indy car. I forget his name he was one of the drivers in the BMW M3 program you guys were talkin about in another thread. he also hosts a racing chalange on speed TV. sorry I dont know that name either. anyways that guy knows how to drive and would make a great host IMO.

I saw a BMW M3 show it had Graham Kayhill ?, John Andretti, Boris Said, & Tommy Kendall. I'm guessing it is Kendall, but didn't know he'd broken his legs before.

It will be lame as fuck. The reason that show is so cool is the british guy that rips on the cars and the way he talks shit about things. I wouldn't bother watching a US version. The real Top Gear is what sealed the deal on me being in love with the Audi R8. I will have one eventually.

Well the reason they are able to do that is because the BBC is not dependent on advertisers. The BBC is paid for by the British people. It is a tax over there. In America, as you know, shows are paid for by advertisers. The advertisers for a show like top gear would be car companies. As soon as they give a bad review on a certain company, the advertisers would be gone. So 1 of 2 things will happen with America Top Gear.

1. It will be a total kiss ass show to the car companies and give BS reviews.

2. They will actually be honest and call a turd a turd and the show will go off the air because they wont be able to pay for it with no advertisers.

I get what youre saying but I think what I meant came across incomplete. Its great how they give an honest opinion but what makes me want to watch is the actual vocabulary he uses. The way the British talk cracks me up.

yea, i know what your saying. Jeremy, James May, and Hammond make that show what it is. It really is one of the greatest shows ever.
