Six-month pregnant transgender man Thomas Beatie told a TV chat show last night that his baby's kicking was driving him mad.

The 34-year-old told host Oprah Winfrey: "She'll wake me up at night with some pretty good kicks. Like now - wow, she's really being feisty."

Thomas said he had always wanted to have a child in his first interview since the unique pregnancy was announced.

The audience saw footage of Thomas and wife Nancy, 45, at an ultrasound in their hometown of Bend, Oregon.

I don't think she was formerly a male. It said she was formerly a bodybuilder, so my initial thought was she screwed up her reproductive system through abuse of anabolics or something.

Maybe they didn't explain because they already have enough people on their backs for what they're doing as is that they didn't want the government after them too...lol.

I'm still really confused. The bodybuilder isn't pregnant, right? But the guy is? But the guy is a girl, and doesn't have a penis. Making it a girl, not a guy. WTF. That child is going to kill itself. Parenting should be controlled by the govt. :D

The title of the thread is wrong. Nancy is the "wife", and she is NOT pregnant. Thomas, the "husband" IS pregnant. He was in the process of "changing" - has facial hair, no breasts, etc - but still has female reproductive organs.

I'm watching them on Oprah - maybe they'll say "why" Nancy couldn't carry the baby.

Thanks. Makes me wonder how much pain she was in, does she have a low pain threshold or she just didn't want to have periods anymore. Obviously, a lot of stuff going on w/those two, so anything is possible.
