I'm voting McCain because he isn't going to close our borders to trade, bailout mortgage owners, and install universal health care. Um, I like what Obama says though. Too young now.

I'd like to say McCain because he's going to be our only Republican option - but I also fear things won't change. I don't care for Hillary, and Obama is *okay*, but I don't think he will be nominated. I seriously do NOT like ANY of the options.

I know a lot of people want to go democratic because they want some major change. That's why the house and congress have demo majority (I think that's right), but nothing has really been done. Most of it is because Bush veto's everything. Will having a demo president get things done or just be a radical change that changes nothing...?

President Bush vetoed not a single Bill for at least 5 years and I am relatively sure he hasn't exercised that power rigorously, eight times about. He vetoes domestic spending bills and bills that fund Iraq that are not 100% what he want. He is a terrible President. Having the country controlled by one party is a bad idea. Look what Bush got done because of it. At least when they are bickering and not passing bills they are doing less to hurt the general population.

I don't think we should be looking at who will hurt the people the least. We should be looking at who is going to help fix it.

Huh? Universal health care is what Hillary and Obama want. Not Mccain.

Toolwtf, you need to re-read what I wrote. And yes, Bush went 5 years without using his veto power. This is the exact reason we can't have a single party running the country.

I know that Congress didn't pass many bills because of Bush's veto power. I may not of heard the details perfectly, but it was something along the lines of him saying he would so don't bother writing the bill or when it was almost put together he would review and say he would veto if it was ever completed.
