Please elaborate on what you think is scary that Obama says? I've been following politics pretty closely this year and I believe that Obama is by far the most level headed one of them all - and that isn't saying much. Which of his policies do you find scary?

^yeah you are also following nick holgan for some fucking reason.

hes going to take away the tax breaks for the "rich" families. in theory its a great idea. well hes talking about familes with an annual income is 100-150k and give it back to the middle class. give me a fucking break. they are the middle class. they problem is ppl like you hear tax the rich more so you go alone with it. this is the classic democrat politics... they do this b/c there are more ppl in that tax bracket (middle class) and it plays perfectly into big oil rich republicans getting richer.

My father runs a automotive aftermarket chemical company which makes a penetrant and they have already had to make a 25¢ price increase on their product because of the cost of shipping and there is some oil used in the product. They have already cut costs of advertising in case they see a loss in profits because of the price increase.

If the price of oil goes up our costs of everything goes up because of shipping... it will completely kill the economy and we could be looking at a 2nd great depression. Besides no one affording to drive, costs of everything you need will also go way up... everybody is going to hurt!

Actually, I watched the Senate Judiciary Committee hammer the oil execs over the weekend. It really has little to do with foreign oil or anyone holding it over our head.

The main question Sen. Pat Leahy had was how they could continue to drive up the price of oil with NO shortages, and yet still take multi million dollar salaries. You want to hear their defense??? They said that even though their profits are sky high, they have to prepare for the future when profits aren't there....Can someone please explain to me when an oil company HASN'T seen a profit???

The second problem with why gas is so high right now is because of the extremely poor dollar. Foreign investors invest in our oil because they can get more bang for their buck, which in turn makes oil that much higher, and drives the dollar weaker.

Environmental groups are who you can thank as to why we are not drilling domestically for our own oil. I am all for animal rights. But, there has to be another habitat those animals migrate to, if its done correctly. The Alaskan Denali & the Gulf of Mexico have huge oil reserves just waiting for us to drill.

What it boils down to, is the dollar. If the dollar stays weak, gas will continue to rise

Well, my husband and I are in that tax bracket, and I file our taxes. I don't know where you're getting your info, but there are very little "tax breaks" when you are in that bracket. Our deductions are from our mortgage, property taxes & business expenses. No other "tax breaks"

The thing that disgusts me the most is the price of diesel. My husband bought his Ram in 2004 because diesel was cheaper, and got better gas mileage. What is so disgusting is that diesel is now almost a $1 more per gallon. Diesel does not have any additional costs when it's refined. Funny how investors just manipulate thing like that.

3 weeks ago, he traded it in for another truck. In those 3 weeks, diesel has risen over .60....a difference of $280 in just fuel costs per month.

So, you're a one issue voter? Ok so you don't like Obama's tax policy - fair enough. But that really has nothing to do with Obama. Regardless of who the democrat nominee is, they will all try and cut into Bush's tax breaks he has given the "rich". I thought it was for 150k and over? You say 100-150k and I'll take you word on it because I don't feel like looking it up.

I'm a democrat and I believe that everyone should be taxed equally regardless of income. I hate to say it but I believe that increasing taxes is necessary right now in order to help pay back all of the money our government has wasted in Iraq. Billions. The reason Bush put the tax breaks in for the rich is because all of his oil buddies and contractors are rich so he was just doing them a favor to begin with.

I am a democrat as well, and share your belief in regards to the tax issue.

With the billions of dollars we have wasted on the war, and the constant borrowing we are doing to still pay for the war; without any increase in taxes- we are looking at least THIRTY years to get back in the green.

Before Bush got into office, we had NO deficit. And all of it is for a war we shouldn't have been fighting in the first place. There were so many other ways this could've gone...but W had to go back and fight daddy's war- and guess what- he can't win it, either....The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

i am in the same boat red -- 5.06 per gallon where i live for diesel i love my ram but the fuel is a killer-- may have to give her up

i watched the same thing you watched aswell -- the companies dont have to do shit -- its the investors driving up the price -- win win for the companies -- cant put total blame on them and they continue to reep record profits

Not far from the truth. My buddy is selling his Dodge Hemi...it's a beautiful truck with all sorts of custom features, but he's had to list it for a very low price in order to make sure it sells quick.

His new toy? A loaded up Honda Civic SI

Gas prices were the key determining factor in his decision.
