            This is my favorite part:

"The spike came despite no specific disruption in the oil market, suggesting that the move was based on speculation"

Just pisses me off. We can no longer continue to allow our government to sit back and make us look like idiots. They are doing this right in front of our faces, and we just watch.

Let's raise prices on "speculation". Unbelievable. No shortages, no surge in demand....

The even funnier part about this, is Asia, and other surrounding countries are building coal & nuclear plants to help with their own energy crisis. So, this is just another BS reason for investors to cash in. Their demand hasn't increased because they are finding ALTERNATIVES.

Why every other country in the world has started production of such alternatives, and we haven't is simply beyond me

            • Saudi seeks meeting to tackle high oil prices

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Saudi Arabia will call for a summit between oil producing countries and consumer states to discuss soaring energy prices, Information and Culture Minister Iyad Madani said Monday.

The kingdom will also work with OPEC to "guarantee the availability of oil supplies now and in the future," the minister said following the weekly Cabinet meeting, held in the seaport city of Jiddah.

The Saudi announcement comes just three days after the biggest single-day price leap ever, when oil surged more than $11 to surpass $139 per barrel.

Retail gas prices rose further above $4 Monday in the United States, the world's largest oil consumer, following the unprecedented price rally.

The kingdom will work to ensure there will be no "unwarranted and unnatural oil price hikes that could affect international economies, especially those of developing countries," said Madani.

"There is no justification for the current rise in prices," he said.

              • Fantastic.

So, can someone please explain to me WHY the Bush Administration, and Congress and the Senate- still refuse to impose ANY infractions on these oil companies?!?!

JUST DROVE MY DIESEL TO WORK ON Vegetable oil ! When all your gasoline cars are dead for lack of fuel I will still have options.

Because the oil companies have the major players in gov't in their back pockets. It all comes down to payoffs. Bush and his father both have major stock in oil companies.

I get it for free from KFC or any other place that wants to stop paying to get rid of there used oil. I have been making bio diesel for several years also. IN any of my diesels I can burn any waste oil such as transmission fluid, motor oil, grease, you name it they can burn it. I also have a diesel generator with the same capabilities. These fuel prices have not taken me by surprise I have been planning for it for a long time. BTW new vegetable oil is more than mineral diesel right now even as high as mineral diesel is. The trucks will also burn any of the refined oils like, kerosene, JP5, home heating oil ect. I tried to go with gas engines at first but the alternative fuels are just too hard to make in the back yard. As you know gas engine vehicles are cheaper to buy and easier to find. But in the end the diesel gives you more easy options.

I have many skills bro. When it all falls apart your right but most people don't do anything about anything except complain. I may not be a survivalist with 3 yrs of food and fuel tucked away but I will make it. On what ever "fuel" there is. Do you think its gonna be Road Warrior sponging gasoline up off the road with a rag from wrecked cars?
