So we are sick of walking 1/4 mile to use the apartments crappy washers and dryers, and are shopping for something used but reliable. I'm looking on craigslist and I dont know where to start. Every set I see is either for like $600 or $150. Well hell for $600 I might as well go $100 more and get an entry level Whirlpool with a warranty. $150 would be nice but I don't want it breaking down on me in a month either. Help me guys I don't know crap about appliances. What am I looking for?

grinder, what you said in your post is the best idea. go for a entry level brand new appliance. go to lows or home depot. pretty sure you can get a lows or home depot credit card and have no payments no interest for 6 months.
you buy some used thing from craigslist and you run the risk of it falling apart in a month. might cost $200 to repair.Comment

If you want something for more than a couple years you are probably best to buy new. I recently got a new set. I went to some tiny used stores and found crap anything else was way overpriced for it's age and usually weren't matching sets. I got lucky and friend recently moved to a place that already had them supplied in the apartment so he gave me a good deal on a pair that were only a couple years old.Comment
