I just bought the PS3 bundle a few days ago...MGS4 is cool as hell...definately worth it, especially if you want the Blu-Ray capability. I watched a Blu-Ray movie on it over the weekend, and it took my love affair with my 50" Viera to the next level :)

I want to so bad especialy after reading hitmans review but I am scared it will jack up my plasma. Im not very tech smart and I hear all the burning the screen drama and I freak out.

If your plasma isn't from the latest series of Panasonic Vieras (only available since this past April), then you are right...a gaming system could mess up your TV. Panasonic has figured out how to eliminate the possibility of burn-in...I haven't heard any other company making the same claim.

Just a heads up. My Dad has a Sony plasma that is from the stone ages and I have played my Xbox on it with no problems.

wrong my friend. panasonic may have a "anti-burn in" technology but so do other plasma manufactures. despite what they tell you, all plasmas are susceptible to burn in. leave a static image on your tv for 24 hours and i promise you, it will burn into the image.

one reason why i prefer LCD over plasma. the picture may not be as good in some cases but i never have to worry about shit like that.

B do you know how long it takes to burn in the screen? I see you said 24 hours but I was wondering if that was just a number you pulled out? If I could play it for 2-3 hours no problem that would be fine.

You are fine as long as you are playing the game, some games do have images that are on the screen in a static location during game play (maps, inventory,...etc). The same could happen with a ticker bottom of espn, it could burn the image into the screen.

I have owned LCD, but the last tv purchased was a Samsung Plasma, I couldn't be happier. I play my Xbox and PS3 on it all the time and haven't had any problems. If I plan on pausing my game for long periods, then I just turn off the TV.

If you buy the bundle and hate the game I will buy it from you if you don't know anyone that would want it. Don't sell or trade it in to Gamestop, they will just rip you off.

yea, you will be fine. the problem comes if you were to pause the game and leave some kind of static image like a score ticker or bullets left ticker for a long time.
