In past posts I've heard you hate on Nascar because they drive in circles. Indy cars race the same tracks but it just seemed like you were lumping Indy cars and F1 in together. I probably misunderstood what you were saying though.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postsophisticated people like myself watch indy car/F1. :moon:

I more of a Nascar fan but I still like the Indy 500 ...
I have permanent seats at a couple nascar tracks and have been following the sport for years way back when It was safe to say it was mostly a redneck sport that has most definitely changed ...You'll find half the fans are women anymore ...

F1 cars are just too fragile. If they spin out & kill the engine, they have to be towed back to the pits to be restarted. Practically anything they hit will put them out of the race.
It was a pretty good race. I was hoping that Meira or Andretti could pull it off.

I actually really like racing. It doesn't matter if it's NASCAR, Indy, F1 or the Cart Fedex series. Those guys are amazing. I've been to a NASCAR race almost across from pit row. Those guys are like freakin ninjas. When everyone comes in under yellow they're scrambling around like they're on fire. I'm amazed more people don't get hit. Then when they all come around after a restart and they're all in a pack, double wide. YEEEAAAAHHH!!!! I was screaming at the top of my lungs and I couldn't even hear my own self. Watching on TV is fun, but when you're really there, it's pretty intense.

I was at the last NASCAR race in Atlanta when there wasn't a speed limit on pit road. Needless to say, that was a bad day for racing when Ricky Rudd rear ended Bill Elliott in the pits and killed one of his crew members.Originally posted by babyblues View PostI actually really like racing. On a lighter note, I went to Winner's Circle. It was the only time I'd ever been there and I was amazed at how dirty the car gets. You smell all the oil and rubber burning which is pretty neat. On tv they look so clean.

Yeah, that's pretty sad. You don't stop to think how dangerous their jobs really are.Originally posted by SonofBone View PostI was at the last NASCAR race in Atlanta when there wasn't a speed limit on pit road. We were about 3 rows from the fence and you could smell the fuel every time they went past. Needless to say, between that, the noise and the sun, I had a huge headache at the end of the day, but it was worth it. You also don't see on TV just how much debris is left on the track. It flies into the air after they roar past. There were flecks of rubber all over our clothes too.
