Gym in Philadelphia area

Does anyone know of a good 'underground' gym in the Philadelphia region? Or at least somewhere I can go and find such a thing.

i know of an Italian owned gym in south philly. its down in the basement. i honestly wouldn't feel right about sending you there though. no offense but i think someone like you might get hurt in a place like that. lol. you might want to stick to the LA fitness that you are used to..

i just mean that the place i am thinking of is pretty rough. if you were to go in there and say the wrong thing it could end bad.

Well, right now I'm at the Philadelphia Sports Club, a subsidiary of, NYSC. I hate it. The environment is terrible. I've only ever been a member of one other chain and that was Golds in Cali. I like smaller gyms that are privately owned and don't attract main line mothers. I understand what you are trying to say, but I'm not used to LA Fitness is what I am trying to say.

When I was in Philly you didn't just go to south philly. It was more you better be with "someone" or from south philly
