  • RIP PC

so this morning im doin my usual routine. lurkin around SM. checkin out some videos on youtube when my computer starts to bog down. its relatively old so its not unusual. i reboot it. it starts loading or w.e. and then it stops. like its frozen. didnt even get to the desktop. im like shit. i wait and it doesnt fully boot. so i manually turn it off and back on. same thing. waited. same thing. did this about 3 times untill i got a message saying that my system has an error rebooting or some crap and im like no shit.

typing this has just reminded my of all the shit that i have on there. and its finally setting in. DAMN IT.:breakit:

so i need a cheap computer fast. im not too informed with computers but my friend said that he can get me a pretty good one at a reasonable price. he gave me some specs but i have no idea what they mean

amd turion x2 2.0 ghz, 2gb ram, 160 gb hard drive, cd/dvd burner, heatsink and fan...

thats all the info he gave me and the price would be about 700$

wondering if anyone knew about comps and could help me out or maybe point me in the right direction as to what i should buy or look into.

    thanks!

if you want a cheap computer and all you do is browse the internet, email, etc, you can get one for much cheaper then $700.

go for something like this. Buy an HP Pavilion a6500z series desktop PC from HP

i know i said i wanted something cheap but i want to specify that i also spend alot of time gaming on my computer and am wondering if something like what you posted will hold up as a gaming computer.

i was told that the systems that my buddy builds was a pretty good gaming computer.

There are going to be a lot of games you can't play if you're spending under a grand on the system.

to play games like say crysis or COD4 etc you will need a PC that will run you 2-3k. depends on the type of games you are talking about. the most important thing for gaming is the Video Card which you do not have listed in the specs above.

my personal opinion is that gaming on a PC is a dieing trend. the hardware to run the latest games is insanely expensive. better off to get a 360 or PS3 and just use your computer for, internet, music, pics, etc..
