What was your dispute with the cable company?Originally posted by redsquirrel View Post1) Absolutely have her call the bank and dispute these charges. However, what does the contract say? If nowhere on the contract it states anything in regard to future or increased charges, then let the bank handle it. Even if you've already paid it, but it wasn't in the contract, dispute it anyway
And most importantly-
2) Send a letter to the attorney general in your state. It's absolutely why they are in that office; to make sure business is done legally. I sent a letter about Charter cable company. I got a response, and Charter even sent me like a $50 refund. Now, I couldn't have gotten that by just bitching up a storm to the high school "supervisor" I would have been routed to.

Well, they told me my entire bill amount would be around $135. But, every month it kept fluctuating- and it wasn't going up and down, just up. I called them several times, and they of course have now outsourced their customer service department in India or some shit like that. I could never get past the rep, and they "said" the next month it would all be corrected. And EVERY month for like 3 months I had to call and chew them out. So, I said F it, and sent the letter.Originally posted by NewbieChris View PostWhat was your dispute with the cable company?

Oh, I know. But, they are the cheapest servicer for our cable package, phone and internet. It sucks to only have that option. I mean we could do it all separately, but it would cost more. Just last month I got a bill for $141. Perfect, fine. Then yesterday I get one for thos month that's $149. And NOTHING changed!!!Originally posted by Turbo3000 View PostHAHA..Charter is a huge fuck up. I hate the company and their terrible customer service.

Wow this goes even deeper. So the central training organization, "Professional Fitness", located in Raleigh, NC was supposed to call us back and confirm that we had successfully cancelled. Surprise Surprise, no one called. I did a little research online, and it turns out that Professional Fitness, and the collection company they use, "Paramount Acceptance" (out of Utah), are just a bunch of scam artists. There is review after review of their shady practices. Even people who sent all of their cancellation notices are still being charged. After people's contracts are up, they are still being charged. Also, when people try and block them from taking out automatic drafts, they make future drafts with different names and #'s so they can still take the money. We had to go get my girl's debit card completely cancelled so they can't take any more money. They are sending a new card with a new number this week. I'm going to keep looking into this. Apparently there are people all over the country looking to get the company shut down. It goes beyond the trainers, this is a nationwide scam.

I hate companies like that, I hope you get everything cancelled. It isn't even just the money, the time you have invested and the headaches it has caused you are what make me mad in similar situations.
Did you call the company today? Keep a phone log if you haven't been, write down times and the name of the representative you speak with, then just jot down some quick notes on the convo. I started doing this when I have problems with a company, I have noticed they seem more responsive to my complaining when I have exact dates, times, and names.
Good luck.
