As you all know I have been volunteering at a day camp. This week I am with a different group than I have been for the past few weeks. One of the kids in that group has been crying daily because he doesn't want me to leave. I never realized how attached he was to me. He also switched to a sports camp that he seems to hate. He asks me everyday if I am going to come back and visit because he knows next week is my last week. I feel like such a dick.

I have been in Chris's shoes, as a volunteer thing during high school, my group and i decided to make ID for elementary school kids, and if were to get kidnapped, than the parents would give the ID to the police..
We fingerprinted the kids, took pictures, and gave all the info possible....
I worked with the same group of kids for 2 months AND I HATED IT...so god damn annoying, they never sit still, they complain, but there a few kids i enjoyed working with.Comment

I feel you bro. I used to work with kids a couple of years ago and did some coaching. You get attached to them big time. Cool that you're volunteering your time.
I'm sure kids getting attached is normal. However, when I went to camps like that, I always looked forward to seeing my mom & dad coming to pick me up. Hopefully, the kids are crying because they're having such a good time and not because their parents are bad or mistreating them.Comment
