The really sad part is, these pictures don't even do justice to how bad she really looks.... The black pup is ours, and should not be bigger than a full grown pit...
This one you can clearly see her ribs and spine, but her stomach is pooched from malnutrition. Just like the starving kids in Africa.
We took turns bottle feeding her Pedialyte to get her hydrated.
Yeah that last picture is just gross though. If its purely malnutrition im confident shell be ok. Its just the tests for other conditions, i.e. heartworms, etc. that I am worried about.

heartworms etc can all be cured with meds. bill may be high but i am pretty confident she will be fine.
i would fuck the shit out of your girl by the way. just thought you might like to know. :)
too many horror stories about pits. u could not pay me to walk one
Pitbulls are great dogs which are very smart and loving. Unfortunately, they seem to be the dog of choice for people who don't give a shit for dogs, they just want a pit because they think it will make them look tough. My buddy is a dog trainer and brings his pitbull, Ranger, to his training sessions so he can socialize other dogs. He is 90lbs of obedient, loyal, and gentle muscle.
On the left is Ranger(90lbs), right is my boy Carter(125lbs)

SO very true!! My pit bull is the most loving animal as well.
Got back from the vet today. Not very good news, but there is still some hope. All of her worm tests including heartworms were negative. But, they did take some x-rays from her and saw something they didn't like. Apparently there was fluid building up between her lungs and ribs. The did a chest tap on her, and couldn't drain out any fluid. They took another few x-rays and determined it was actually mass the size of a grapefruit. This mass is pressing her lungs in two different directions, making it extremely hard to breathe. They dont have the technology at a normal vet to find out exactly what it is, so they are referring us to a specialist. She warned us that even if surgery could save her, it would cost upwards of $2,000. She gave us the option of putting her down. Call me stupid but I could never do that to a year old dog if there is any chance she can have a normal happy life. Tomorrow we go for a consultation. Step 1 is figuring out what the mass is. God willing, it is a cyst which they can remove fairly easily. (I say fairly because anytime they are going into the chest area, it is going to be a serious procedure.) I'm praying that its not some kind of nasty cancer. At a little over a year old, cancer isn't too likely, but it is still fairly possible as the vet put it. Any serious form of cancer of that size would most likely need we would have to put her down.
Watching her fucking tears me up inside. It is so hard for her to breathe. Even when she is sleeping her whole body has to go into taking a short breath. I'll be praying for good news tomorrow.

Keep us updated. I will be hoping for an easy to remove cyst. Let us know if you need anything.
