True, I dont have any clue of that guys skills. But he was a sloppy205lbs and looked weak. He would have to have prety good BJJ skills to submit kimbo. He wouldnt be able to hold kimbo down for long if at all.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postwouldn't be so sure. if it went to the ground..
Size and strength does come in to play. I grapple all the time with blue belts that I out weight by 30-40lbs. they cant hold me down or submit me. Well not all of them.lol.

Kimbo's big and powerful no doubt, but if he comes across someone in shape and with some real skills, they put him in some deep water, game over. So far he only fought bums and has beens, Ken Shamrock hasn't won a fight in ages and was clearly hand picked to loose. I don't begrudge someone making a living for themselves but I'm glad Kimbo lost, he got like $500,000 for that fight or something and thats just wrong when you consider all those guys that have been fighting for years and have the battle scars to prove it, Kimbo posted some street fights on the net and hype did the rest for him.
I just spent some time with Kevin Randleman remember and he's recovered from staph infection that nearly took him out, and now recovering from shoulder injuries both sides, hopefully he'll be fighting next year but I doubt he'll even be making as much money as Kimbo and that just seems wrong with the resume he has.
Rocket, I know your a big dude and strength does come into it, but strength only last so long, if your grappling with guys that are blue belt and they can't submit you then either your quite good at grappling or your just too stubborn and they don't want to break your arm.Last edited by Mr I; 10-09-08, 01:44 PM.

Im white belt at BEST. The guys I am talking about are just not that strong. Their are 2 pros in the 205lbs class that I train with that can submit me very easy. To tell you the truth they are alot better strikers also.lol.Originally posted by Mr incredible View PostKimbo's big and powerful no doubt, but if he comes across someone in shape and with some real skills, they put him in some deep water, game over. IMO Kimbo would of been to strong for that guy. Kimbo would of pounded him on the ground.
