there's no proof that mj elevates estrogen - it's a myth along with the bs that it kills brain cells and it's carcinogenic. All the research that shows it to be harmful is suspect. I invite you to check out a couple of movies on the subject "Grass" and "The Union"Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postyea, high estrogen levels are great for bulking. :hmm:

you guys are pretty funny - you have zero evidence to back your argument
Marijuana Health MythologyMyth: Marijuana causes sterility and lowers testosterone
Government experts also concede that pot has no permanent effect on the male or female reproductive systems.(14) A few studies have suggested that heavy marijuana use may have a reversible, suppressive effect on male testicular function.(15) A recent study by Dr. Robert Block has refuted earlier research suggesting that pot lowers testosterone or other sex hormones in men or women.(16) In contrast, heavy alcohol drinking is known to lower testosterone levels and cause impotence. A couple of lab studies indicated that very heavy marijuana smoking might lower sperm counts. However, surveys of chronic smokers have turned up no indication of infertility or other abnormalities.
Less is known about the effects of cannabis on human females. Some animal studies suggest that pot might temporarily lower fertility or increase the risk of fetal loss, but this evidence is of dubious relevance to humans.(1) One human study suggested that pot may mildly disrupt ovulation. It is possible that adolescents are peculiarly vulnerable to hormonal disruptions from pot. However, not a single case of impaired fertility has ever been observed in humans of either sex.
delta9-Tetrahydrocannabinol and 17beta-estradiol bind to different macromolecules in estrogen target tissues -- Okey and Bondy 200 (4339): 312 -- Sciencearticles
delta9-Tetrahydrocannabinol and 17beta-estradiol bind to different macromolecules in estrogen target tissues
AB Okey and GP Bondy
delta9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (delta9-THC), added to the limit of its solubility, did not compete with tritiated 17beta-estradiol for binding to estrogen receptor sites in mouse mammary or uterine cytosols. On sucrose density gradients of low-ionic strength, mammary cytosol labeled with [3H]estradiol exhibited a binding peak near the "8S" region typical of estrogen receptor whereas in cytosol labeled with delta9-[3H]THC binding was limited to the nonspecific 4- to 5S region. Differences in sedimentation properties and reciprocal competition studies strongly refute previous claims that delta-9-THC binds to estrogen receptor and that by so doing it directly acts as an estrogen.Last edited by gdbear65; 09-28-08, 03:43 PM.
