What happened to musicians that write their own music and lyrics?

I know, they are all indie bands making 30k a year, while people that mix and sample other people's music make millions....cool industry.

Actually, Travis Barker writes music for other bands as well as his old band Blink 182, teaches music to inner city kids for free, and does multiple side projects. This collaberation with DJ AM was more for personal entertainment, but it caught on a local clubs and has become quite popular.


He honestly is a talented musician. Unlike 99% of the rap or hip hop that is out there, to which your smart ass remarks would apply, lol. ;)

Blink 182?? TERRIBLE pop shit.

And edit the line about rap and hip hop, it is all popular music. Most popular music are talentless faces that sing other people's lyrics and have a cd track in the background.
