            We are seriously lacking in education and education funding. The people that are suppose to teach our youth can barely make enough money to survive. I am sure a lot of great people want to teach and make peanuts.

              I always hear Americans saying this. Is this just propaganda you have swallowed or is there a definitive list somewhere? I picture a large grid with countries on one side and freedoms on another with boxes checked. Is America leading? Are all various freedoms equal?

              I, personally, think that the discussion should focus on quality of life rather than freedom. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of refugees in plenty of lawless places that are 'free' to do what they'd like; I'm not sure I'd want to trade my 'repressive' life for their 'freedom.'
