Yeah they got very aggressive in the off season. adding selane and kariya is offensively deadly. and to make it even crazier, those two wont even be on the first line.

i think i heard that Granato is gonna keep the number 1 line of Forsberg, Hedjuk and Tanguay and have the 2nd line of Sakic, Selane and Kariya?

Goaltending isn't even that crucial when you've got scoring like that. The tender doesn't have to be hot...merely competent.

LOL Larry Melrose picks the Rangers to go to the finals and loose. I am Rangers fan, we have some talent, we are lucky if we make it in as an eight place team yet alone make it to the finals. kinda funny that melrose picked them cause he usually kills them.

what??!?!?! yer even canadian, you should know more about hockey...lol....if we went strictly on offensive power, the wings woulda won like 7 of the last 10 cups. come playoff time, all that open ice that skaters once had is gone. Defense and goaltending win championships...i will bet right now that if Col doesnt get a goalie, they will NOT win the cup

True for the most part but it can work both ways. Anahiem's golie is what took them to the playoffs.

Aebischer is no slouch in net...his numbers are respectable when he's played...and are sure to be better with regular starts. And the wings NEVER were this loaded with firepower...not guys of this caliber in the prime of their career rather than the twillight.

Thank you...maybe the Wings werent so loaded with firepower, but if you look at the stats...the Wings had the highest GF many years, and while they have 3 cups in 6 years, i still say goaltending wins championships...Abescher is decent, but he is a BACKUP...Manny Legace of the Wings is a great backup too, but he wouldnt be able to win a cup.

Aebischer will win a shitload of games, dont get me wrong...but unless he performs in playoffs, they wont win...the times of the 9-8, 10-7 games are over, no more of the mid-80s Oilers...However, I loved their style...they played a style, which looked like the last team to touch the pucks wins lol
