I am sure it is a fun, great handling car to drive around, and I would if my girl had one. Just too small for me, I like the sedan one much better.

Anyone can take European delivery of a BMW. Its as simple as requesting it. What happens is you buy the car, set a date to fly to Europe and pick up the car, usually takes about a month for delivery. So, I chose early December. Fly to Munich. You then drive the car to one of the shipping points throughout Europe. In this case, its the Netherlands so I can visit my buddy. Ship car.

Shipping is 825 normally, I don't know what it is for Euro delivery because I didn't have to pay for it. I've done this 3 times before. Once with my M3, twice with my Dad M5 and M6. Its really fun, you basically get a car for 7-10% off and a trip to Europe. And we do things cheaply so the Europe trip usually costs 1200 bucks, tickets, hotels and food.

Sounds great. I know it cost around 500-800 to ship a car in the States, so I just figured shipping across an ocean would be more expensive. I thought the shipping would be around 3-4k. Sounds like a fun trip, need a co-pilot?

Its unfortunate, but I'm a mod on a BMW forum.

I'm bringing my brother, and he's not even going to get to drive the car.

If you buy a ECU program (Vishnu, AA, etc.) can't you switch it back to stock before sending the car for service?

I personally would not do that, because if something did happen it would be on me. I have thought about Dinan accessories, but I really have no purpose for them. I have been over the modding bug for cars a LONG time. This will be my daily driver and it does not need to be anything spectacular. Just fun, which the 1 is.

Its a 9 day vacation in late December. I am hoping my diet will be kept in check by the fact that I am trying to stay with my friends as much as possible and I won't be out at restaurants.
