  • Almost 20cm of snow on the ground here

I can't remember there ever being this much snow on the ground this early in the year in my lifetime. The noreaster that hit us last night was intense...I had a white-knuckle drive at about 11:30 last night. I couldn't see where the road was at times...had to 'use the force' and guess because there were 70mph gusts of wind that put the visibility to zero.

It's going to melt off in a hurry tho...gonna be mild tomorrow and then all the way up to 15C on Friday. What a preview of winter tho.

Living in the PNW but coming from the Midwest, I really miss snow. I suppose you guys who live through it for months on end might disagree, though.

Oh my goodness - it's way too early for winter to be starting like that.

yeah I heard a lot of people in the NE States lost power overnight too - really sucks

I was pissed that I had to scrape ice & snow off my car before heading to the gym this morning - it's too early for snow, especially after all the snow we got last winter - broke the record for Toronto

Damn, so early for snow. Here in Maryland its been dropping in the high 30's every night.

If it does snow, it needs to come down heavy because it looks nice and i enjoy waking up to a few inches of snow.

That's crazy. It did sprinkle a little here, around 6pm, but it was all rain though. It was weird because it lasted 5 minutes. Maybe if it was cold enough it would've been snow.

Damn...I never thought I'd have to pay the plow guy at the end of October. Crazy.

Is that not paid for by your neighborhood or county (or whatever you guys call them)?

No goofball :P Either the state or county does it for the main roads, or the homeowners association could pay for it in the neighborhood.

I was talking about my driveway. The road I live on is plowed by the township.
